WHAT IS A STEM CELL ?

Stem cells are the most active and youngest cells in the body. Stem cell treatment is one of the greatest improvements in the field of dermo-cosmetic surgery for inactive, passive and dormant tissues to regain a youthful, healthy, fresh and radiant appearance.

"Stem cells" are cells capable of transforming into any cells on the tissue where they are located, continuously renewing themselves and giving rise to more cells. As they can renew themselves indefinitely and reproduce while they can grow within the environment they are located in, the stem cells play an important role in terms of body renewal and improvement.

HOW IS A STEM CELL OBTAINED ?

Even though there are various methods to obtain stem cells, the most commonly known and the most efficient one is the separation and use of stem cells from the fat tissue. When the subcutaneous fat tissue is used without being processed, it only provides a short term effect. For this reason, stem cells and the fat tissue freed from fatty acids are separated with the assistance of some special devices.

The process of obtaining stem cells requiring a very special laboratory environment and equipment is unfortunately not easily found in our country. The procedure performed under inadequate and inappropriate conditions is only fat tissue and filler injections. Therefore, its permanence or the rejuvenation effect it will have on the tissue is barely seen. Subcutaneous adipose tissue taken from any part of the body is purified with the help of special devices and tissue cultures. Stem cells or the stem cell-enriched fat tissue may be used only after this purification process, and by this means, the tissue becomes permanent and serves the purpose. With the help of these extremely active stem cells, a youthful look may be achieved in bodily structures that have been defeated by time, such as wrinkles and skin laxity on the face, sagging on the neck, cleavage, breast and abdomen skin in addition to the signs of aging on hands.

Which Areas of the Body is the Stem Cell Treatment Applied to? The most common areas of application are the face and neck areas. We can also use stem cell-enriched fat grafts in these areas in particular.

We are able to provide a filling effect with fat grafts while eliminating the ducts formed at the edge of the mouth downwards or upwards, tissue loss on the cheekbones or deep lines between eyebrows. Thanks to stem cells, we are able to achieve a healthy, youthful, fresh and purely beautiful appearance on the entire face and neck areas. Furthermore, we can use the stem cell treatment for the time related skin laxity, creases and collagen loss in the cleavage area and on the back of hands. Besides skin rejuvenation, great advancement with stem cells is also observed in the activation of hairy scalp with the patients having complaints about hair loss, hair thinning or weakening.

HOW IS THE STEM CELL PROCEDURE PERFORMED ?

In general, stem cells procedure is performed in sterile environments and under a slight local anesthesia. In cases where we think it is necessary, we support these procedures with laser at certain wavelengths and frequency. The treatments applied to the face are the most remarkable ones. The treatment is also popularly requested for the back of hands.

There are procedures applied for hairy scalp and hair follicle stimulation. However, the use of PRP -- multipotent cells obtained from blood -- seems more reasonable and comfortable.

HOW LONG DOES THE STEM CELL TREATMENT’S EFFECT LAST ?

With stem cell treatment, quite satisfactory results that last a very long time can be obtained. Implementing the stem cell treatment at regular intervals during the process would be beneficial.

Having a skin care done and usage of moisturizers and some other special cosmetic products are certainly useful for extending the duration of the stem cell treatment’s results. PRP Procedure in Aesthetics
