How Does Collagen Loss Happen and How Do the Signs of Aging Emerge?
The most apparent and annoying effects of time on our body is collagen loss. As a matter of fact, everything starts with the loss and remission of collagen, in other words, subcutaneous tissues. With this, looseness leaps more to the eye, sagginess becomes more severe and wrinkles become more evident. Unfortunately, there is no way to replace this collagen in its entirety apart from stem cell treatment. The amount of collagen we can produce and replace through stem cell treatment is still not enough.
What is Hyaluronic Acid Filler?
Hyaluronic acid containing fillers are the most popular and reliable filler materials worldwide. Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide polymer found in human body. We can call this the basic constituent of all collagen tissues including collagen and fibrogen. Therefore, these fillers that we inject actually contain a substance that is already existent but somehow diminishing in human body. Hyaluronic acid fillers are proven means towards volume loss – they fix contour flaws and support skin structure. As they are very similar to natural tissue, they provide perfect adaptation and tissue integration.
The filler material should be approved by world health organizations, should not bear the risk of developing allergic reactions, and should not be permanent. Permanent fillers should not be preferred due to their high complication rates. Owing to the state-of-the-art technologies, the consistencies and tissue integration of the fillers are now vary in a wide range. Every one of these products have different properties in terms of crosslinks, molecular weight, and cohesiveness.
Most of the time we prefer to use different products by mixing them in the tissue. As to my own experience, some intermediary consistencies are not yet to be developed.
Nose Shaping with Fillers and Botox
It is often quite hard to make a decision for rhinoplasty – people abstain from rhinoplasty due to some reservations such as age, financial condition, or time. So, on account of many reasons such as this, nose shaping with fillers and botox is a procedure which we frequently perform in recent years.
Nose shaping with fillers and nose tip lifting with botox is called LIQUID RHINOPLASTY.
As the proportions of the nose vary in terms of millimeters, we can make alterations on the tip, body, or the root of the nose with little touches of fillers.
The most important parameter here is to know where and how much to apply the filler.
Nose shaping with botox and filler is a 10-minute procedure for escalating the anatomical proportions to ideal dimensions, assessing the shape of the nose after the procedure, and having a nose which you can love maybe for the rest of your life without having an operation. A detailed examination is necessary prior to the procedure. After some little markings and measurements, we perform the procedure by using the fillers which are appropriate for the skin quality, and to cartilage and bone structure.
After some shaping with hand, we use botox for lifting the tip of the nose and decreasing, if not eliminating the nose tip movements that occur while talking or laughing. We have a control session after 7-10 days, and make little reinforcements if necessary. While varying from one person to another, permanence is for 12-16 months. We especially recommend using glasses for approximately one month after the procedure, and avoiding traumas that may cause the filler to displace.
Lip Shaping with Fillers
The first thing you need to know is the fact that lips are the most used organ during the day, therefore asymmetries due to the various strengths of the muscles in that area are quite natural. Fillers can easily be applied both to fix these asymmetries and for procedures such as thickening, reshaping, or the definition of lip line. In fact, lip shaping is a procedure that is carried out with filler and botox. However, in order to achieve a natural and harmonious appearance which does not manifest itself from miles away, one should have a solid grasp of all anatomical, muscular and vascular structures. Otherwise every lip will be similar to each other. As natural appearance will be given precedence, a follow-up examination approximately 10 days after the first application is recommended. In this way, it would be possible to both reduce the amount of filler to be applied in one session and eliminate the risk of swelling and haemorrhage, and to achieve a natural appearance through controlled procedures. I am typically in favour of creating lips that are in harmony with the patients’ mouth features and mimics.
With an examination prior to the procedure, we try to achieve an optimal shape considering the wishes, perioral proportions, smile and speech dynamics of patients. In the event of a decision towards lip shaping, this is a 10-15 minutes procedure.
Jaw and Face Fillers
With the help of the technological advances in filler materials, we start to apply fillers with different consistencies and metabolic structures to every part of the face. That means there are huge differences between the fillers that are applied to the lips and the fillers that are applied on the cheekbones. These differences change several parameters such as the hydration levels, absorption rates and injection depths.
Emphasizing the chin and ovalizing the lower face that has started to become rectangular in time is very easy with the fillers to be applied on these areas.
We can obfuscate the nasolabial lines that go down from the edges of the nose to the edges of the mouth and Marionette wrinkles at the edges of the mouth with fillers, and we can eliminate the effects of time and gravity at lower face and circumoral area.
A little more consistent and deep filler to be applied on the cheekbones and/or the zygomatic bone would help us to provide an inverse triangle appearance which is one of the most significant factors of a young and fresh look on the face.
As a result, we can obtain such a fundamental change with so little and natural interferences with fillers that every time even I am amazed to see that with a huge admiration.
